  • Divorce can be an emotionally and financially draining process. Ashley will develop a plan at the beginning of your case to help you navigate the next phase of your life while minimizing the toll the process can take on your family.

  • Circumstances can change after a divorce. Sometimes the prior custodial arrangement or child support obligation becomes unworkable due to causes beyond your control. Ashley will work with you to create a new custody or child support arrangement which fits your current needs and situation.

  • We know your children are of utmost importance. Ashley will work tirelessly to ensure you receive the most time possible with your children and have a say in the decisions that affect them most.

  • Choosing to bring a child into your family is an exciting decision, but the legal barriers can seem daunting. Ashley will walk you through each step of the process so you can rest easy knowing the legalities are covered and your new family will be brought together soon.

  • The law requires parents to provide financial support for the benefit of their children. Ashley will ensure your children receive what is fair and necessary for their education, medical care and other living expenses.

  • Judges expect their orders about visitation, child support and property division to be followed. Sometimes you have to take legal action to make someone comply. In that case, Ashley will file a contempt action to ensure the provisions of your court order are followed and prevent future noncompliance.

  • In certain circumstances, it’s important for couples to have a written agreement regarding their respective property and finances should they ever divorce. These rights and responsibilities can be detailed in a prenuptial or postnuptial agreement. Ashley is experienced in drafting and reviewing these agreements to protect your financial future in the event of a divorce.

  • Ashley can help you obtain a Temporary Protective Order to protect you from an abusive family member or intimate partner or prevent stalking. Ashley will also vigorously advocate on your behalf should you be wrongfully accused of domestic violence.

  • High-asset divorces often involve complex assets. Ashley understands the financial complexities associated with high net-worth individuals and families and has a network of experienced financial professionals who can help value assets, including any businesses, and determine a family’s cash flow.

  • In certain contested custody cases, an advocate, known as a Guardian ad Litem, is appointed to represent the best interests of the child. A Guardian conducts an investigation into the circumstances of the case and makes a recommendation to the Court regarding custody and parenting time. Ashley is a trained Guardian ad Litem and available to assist in your case.

  • Separate maintenance (i.e. legal separation) may be an appropriate solution when spouses do not foresee divorce in their future, but want to live separately and establish an agreement with regard to finances and property on a temporary basis.

  • When two unmarried parents have a child together, certain legal actions need to be taken in order to establish a parent's custodial rights and determine child support. Ashley works hard to ensure that unwed fathers and mothers receive what they are entitled to under the law.

  • You may need alimony (i.e. spousal support) post-divorce if you are the financially dependent spouse. In general, when determining the length and amount of the award, the Court will take into consideration the need of the dependent spouse and the other spouse’s ability to pay, among other factors. If you need alimony, Ashley will make sure you receive the award you deserve.

  • Depending on the circumstances of your family, grandparents may be entitled to seek visitation or custody of their grandchildren. If this is the case, Ashley will ensure you receive the visitation or custodial rights to which you are entitled.

  • In certain, limited circumstances, a caregiver may be entitled to seek visitation or custody of a child. If you find yourself in this circumstance, Ashley will ensure your rights to visitation or custody are fully sought and protected.

  • Ashley prefers to engage in cost-effective solutions for settling disputes through the use of mediation, arbitration or other settlement negotiation. Generally, these procedures are more expeditious than litigation. Ashley is well experienced in all forms of alternative dispute resolution and use these resources to her clients’ strategic advantage.
