“We’re proud to be a

settlement-focused

Our Approach

Most family law cases are wrought with emotion, which can make them difficult, painful and even frustrating for clients. Unfortunately, many family lawyers take actions in cases which amplify those emotions rather than alleviate them. When attorneys are unnecessarily contentious or work a case in a “scorched-earth” fashion, no one wins (other than the lawyers). There is a better way to resolve family law issues, and doing so starts with hiring the right attorney.

At Heredia Family Law, we practice law with empathy, civility and respect. We believe that working a case in this manner produces better results and minimizes the emotional strain often felt by clients navigating family law cases. Maybe you’re thinking, “that sound’s great, but you don’t know my spouse (ex-spouse/partner).” While the tenor of a case is dependent on the behavior and desires of both parties, having an attorney who is well-trained in settlement-driven, amicable resolution is your best chance of having a less stressful, antagonistic or difficult case. Contrary to what you may think, both parties do not have to agree on everything (or even anything!) to have their case resolve through amicable settlement instead of an emotionally-charged and costly trial or final hearing.

Let us show you how to get there.

Hi, I’m Ashley Heredia.

People think they want the “bulldog” attorney - someone who will be overly aggressive or even difficult. What clients don’t realize is hiring that kind of attorney typically results in the payment of more attorney’s fees, creates more emotional turmoil and is more likely to leave a family irreparably broken. I firmly believe there’s a better way to practice family law.

Ashley has practiced law for fifteen years with thirteen of those dedicated solely to family law. Prior to opening her own law practice, Ashley worked for some of Atlanta's most prestigious family law firms.

As a child of divorced parents, Ashley knows first-hand how difficult divorce can be on children. Ashley is dedicated to achieving amicable resolutions that help parties maintain a civil relationship after the conclusion of their case. Ashley is known for having a good working relationship with her peers and is well respected by other lawyers in the family law community. These qualities greatly benefit Ashley’s clients by promoting settlement and amicable outcomes in her cases.

Ashley is known for giving her clients candid and honest advice, but also providing the sincere compassion and support her clients need. In all of her cases, Ashley strives to maximize a client's outcome while minimizing their financial and emotional cost. Ashley is also trained as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL), where she advocates for the best interests of children in contested custody cases. More on Ashley’s GAL work.

Ashley was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, where her parents still reside. Ashley loves in-town living and currently resides in Atlanta neighborhood, Morningside. When not working, Ashley enjoys traveling, live music, being outdoors and spending time with her daughter and husband, a fellow Atlanta-area family law attorney.

“I am a full time surgeon and mother of two. Ashley compassionately led me through my divorce.

She is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, professional, prompt and very responsive.

Ultimately, I gained even more than I asked for without even needing to go to court.

I cannot recommend her and her firm enough.”
